In this era, especially in this modernized globalizations, Social Media plays a vital role in building that connection, whereas every individual could interact with each other even if they are a thousand miles apart. This idea could be a fascinating idea for more diverse socialization, but there is always yang to yin. There is numerous downside effect of Social Media, which includes online dating scams, online shopping frauds, and go fund me ’s. The perpetrators of this vile act are the cybercriminals itself that are seeking fortune. There are many scam cases that we can take from online dating scams, for instance like catfishing, kidnapping, etc. While for the online shopping frauds, it could be like things you order did not look like the display online at all. And for the go fund me ‘s it could be like people faking illness for money. Even the government itself could be using our data information without consent, from Facebook, etc.

When people feel lonely, they try their best to find someone that can cheer them up or even be there for them 24/7. Think about the people who don't feel comfortable talking or socializing with others, they tend to use the internet to find their penpal and sometimes more than just a penpal. Because nowadays the internets provides lots and lots of app where you can meet strangers online and it is known as the online dating app such as tinder, omegle, wechat and etc. Finding friends or your half other online is actually a risky thing to do because peole cannot just trust someone easily especially when they never met each other. We don't know whether this person is a good or bad individuals or even worst we don't know whether they really exist or not. There's a lot of case about online dating, people got kidnapped,

Online shopping has changed the world completely. It has created an age of extreme convenience for those who are privileged enough to have access to the internet. Online shopping has allowed humans to not even have to leave their homes in order to obtain items they need or want, decreasing the time needed to obtain items and increasing expenditure of the normal middle class person. Yet, online shopping is also an easy way for people to commit fraud. Because shoppers cannot see the real product of a store, they must rely on the pictures and descriptions provided by the sellers. This way sellers can easily trick buyers into thinking they are buying a certain product, only to receive something that wasn’t the product they ordered. Luckily, many online store services are now able to crack down on those who commit fraud with rating and reporting systems that can remove these people from those sites.

Maghfira:

The emergence of GoFundMe in 2010 opens a window for new risks of fraud cases. Being a platform that focuses on crowdfunding, GoFundMe’s main purpose is to raise money to those in need. Ranging from events like animal rescue to treatment expenses for a life-threatening disease, GoFundMe had raised over $5 billion since its debut. Despite its noble philanthropic intentions, however, GoFundMe evolved into a playground for fraudsters. Last year, a woman was arrested after raising $20,000 for her non-existent medical bills for her bone cancer. These frauds typically have a heart-warming background in order to win the heart of potential donators. Another woman managed to raise $400,000 by claiming her male accomplish as a homeless veteran earlier this year. While it is a noble thing to help other people in need, users must be mindful of fraudsters and check and recheck the credibility before donating to an event.

So the conclusion is, we must be able to choose what is good and what is bad. For the example in online dating there is a risk of meeting a dishonest person who created a profile with a dating site only for scamming other member, beside that swiping based on a photo and a couple of facts has sort of turned online and mobile dating into a game. it can be fun to make these quick judgments about people, right? His hair is too short swipe left. Her eye are black instead of green swipe left. She has perfect teeth swipe right. These aren’t the things that great dates and relationships are made of. For the other example, i want to talk about online shopping. For most people online shopping is fun things to do. But there is some negative effects, like shipping problems and delay, risk of fraud, and you dont know exactly what youre getting. So we have to be catious and be selective when using social media.
