Born on 17 May 1975, Roby Muhamad was known as a scientist, entrepreneur, and also a content creator. He was born to both Medical-Doctor parents, which led him to grow in an environment where he was surrounded by a house full of books. However, his parents let him choose his path and he could do whatever he wanted. In high school, Roby was a guitar player of a band back in highschool and it became his first stage of confidence. His childhood helps him to shape his confidence. He also joined ITB to test his confidence. Early on, he never wanted to study medicine. He is willing to study any other subjects but not medical studies since it did not take an interest in him. (ayf)
As a child, Roby was surrounded by the highly intellectual and knowledgeable. Both his father and mother being Medical Doctors. Rody was constantly surrounded by books because of this, and thus spent much of his time gaining knowledge from them and obtaining curiosity, an aspect that would take over his life in his later years. One of the many reasons that Rody states he was able to succeed was the fact that he had confidence in himself, something many Indonesian people do not have. This confidence was fueled by his parents allowing him to “Do whatever he wanted” within reason of course. And thus, because of his confidence and curiosity he would go forward to acquire more knowledge of the world. As we all know, children will always be rebellious against their parents at some point, and rebellion is often that which is the opposite of what the parents wish for their child. In Roby Muhamad’s case, it was his rejection of wanting to study and follow in the footsteps of his mother or father, stating himself that he wished to do “anything but medical studies.” In this case, his curiosity for the universe took hold and he focused himself in the study of the universe and how it worked. Then, he had his Ph.D. in Sociology, researching social networks from Columbia University, New York. He has a bachelor's degree in theoretical physics from Bandung Institute of Technology. He currently works as a Psychology professor at the University of Indonesia. Understanding how things work. At 18 was about the universe. Once he got older he wanted to learn more about things closer to human society. The motivation was how we don’t understand ourselves. The curiosity to understand things and the study of ourselves. Doing research is the same in physics and psychology. He then spent years to study human beings and social media. Thinking the world will be the same is nonsense to Roby. Curiosity does not always kill the cat. Roby Muhamad is a living proof of that. His inquisitive nature had driven him to make a handful of decisions that some may even consider as risky. Roby himself mentioned multiple times that he is a man driven by curiosity. His first two degrees he got because he was curious about the universe. Then the third, his sociology doctorate, was due to his interest in society. It was a leap of faith one after another. However, when asked whether he would change anything about his life journey, his answer was a solid no. (Fira)
So the conclusion is in life there will be times when we will fall and need others and there are times when we will rise and we must help others. in roby's journey, he is always confident and never gives up in achieving compliance, besides roby also always help others if anyone needs. We can learn that exploring more also can leads to a succsess, like getting out of your comfort zone.
